This Black History Month, we honor Virgil E. Brown, a trailblazing public servant whose leadership helped shape Cuyahoga County. Brown was the first African American to serve as Director of the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections and the first elected African American Cuyahoga County Commissioner in a countywide office outside the judiciary.
