May 19th - on this day in 1965, NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration conducted the fourth abort test of the Apollo spacecraft, A-003. A Little Joe II rocket launched from Launch Complex 36 at the White Sands Missile Range, carrying an Apollo boilerplate Command and Service Module and an Apollo Launch Escape System (LES).
