Diana Drake, who has a spinal cord injury, is mother to Ryan Savannah, born on April 10, 2023, with care from Sunnybrook’s Accessible Care Pregnancy Clinic. “People with disabilities can be moms,” Diana says. “We’re still learning, and as she grows we’ll need to adapt and learn. But all new moms have to adapt and learn. It might just look a little different from everyone else. An exciting day! Today, Sunnybrook began administering the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine to residents of our Veterans Centre — the largest Veterans' care facility in Canada. The first two recipients said they were excited to be part of this historic moment: - Richard Ratcliffe, 92 years old, served with the Royal Canadian Navy during the Korean War and Cold War. - Stanley Dinney, 98 years old, served with the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War II.
