The New York Yankees pulled off a stunning trade Thursday, acquiring versatile infielder Jose Caballero from the Tampa Bay Rays in the middle of a rain-delayed game at Yankee Stadium.

To trade for reliever Codi Heuer, the Detroit Tigers sent cash considerations to the Texas Rangers. Heuer has been assigned to Triple-A Toledo.
