A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held Thursday, June 8 at 4 p.m. for the new Loop Trail, the official beginning of the Prisma Health Swamp Rabbit Trail (SRT) in Laurens County.
The trail got its quirky name from a defunct local train called the Swamp Rabbit. Opening in 2009, the paved trail now draws a half-million bicyclists, joggers and strollers a year.
