Stock Market Highlights: 29 out of the 50 constituent stocks of the benchmark NSE Nifty50 ended lower, dragged by Hindustan Unilever, Britannia Industries, BPCL, Tata Consumer, and Nestle India

India's benchmark indices continued their downward trajectory on Thursday, extending their correction phase for a sixth consecutive session. The Nifty ended the day below the 23,550 mark, weighed down by selling pressure in FMCG,

After opening in green, the S P BSE Sensex reversed course, dragged down by banking, financial services, and auto stocks. The Nifty50, too, faced a broad-based decline, with nearly all sectoral indices closing in the red except for Nifty Realty.

Sun Pharma, Trent, HCL Tech, Infosys, and ONGC were among the top gainers on the Nifty index. Britannia Industries, HDFC Bank, NTPC, and Tata Motors were among the top losers.

Among sectors, all the sectoral indices ended in the red with auto, bank, capital goods, FMCG, metal, oil & gas, power, telecom, media, pharma down 0.5-2 percent.

Bank stocks HDFC Bank and State Bank of India contributed most to the Sensex fall. NTPC, Tata Motors and Bajaj Finance also contributed to the decline.

Indian benchmark equity indices BSE Sensex and Nifty 50 opened higher on Tuesday, amid strength in the US markets.

The trends on Gift Nifty also indicate a flat start for the Indian benchmark index. The Gift Nifty was trading around 24,235 level, a premium of nearly 10 points from the Nifty futures’ previous close.

Indian stock markets opened higher on Monday, driven by gains in Tata Motors and Asian Paints, but traded with caution ahead of key corporate earnings reports. Despite the initial surge, technical indicators suggest continued market volatility and consolidation in the near term.
