Texas will experience wind gusts of up to 55 mph in parts on Wednesday, while relative humidity will plummet to as low as six percent.

Six states have been placed under expanded red flag warnings amid a severe weather outbreak in the U.S. this weekend that could trigger "catastrophic grassland fire danger" for affected areas.

In Oklahoma, red flag warnings are issued when conditions such as high temperatures, low humidity, and strong winds create a heightened risk of wildfires, urging residents to take extra precautions.

Many wildfires in eastern Oklahoma have already sparked this March, and this week, the state will begin moving toward ‘extreme’ wildfire level risk.

The National Weather Service has issued a red flag warning for all of West Central Texas from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday. Strong winds and low humidity are expected to create critical-to-extreme fire weather conditions. Residents are advised to avoid outdoor burning, secure loose objects and be cautious while driving.
