After the devastation that came when the Partner Showcase did not feature Hollow Knight: Silksong, naturally, this news sent the Silksong community back into a frenzy (especially with a demo appearing at Gamescom later this month ), with the exclamation of "ah shit, here we go again" summing it up pretty well.

Silksong will make an appearance, but hopes for its inclusion in Nintendo's Indie World Showcase on August 7 may have been dashed. The long-awaited metroidvania from Team Cherry has become something of a white whale for fans of the original Hollow Knight,

At this point, Hollow Knight: Silksong has transcended its 'indie' label. Sure, for all intents and purposes, it still is an indie game, but it's one of the most anticipated games of the year, meaning its appearance at any indie showcase, even Nintendo's Indie World Showcase, is highly unlikely.
