The criminal defense attorney who defended notable clients, including disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein, died Monday at 80 years old, his law firm confirmed.

James Comer, the Chairman for the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, issued a subpoena for Ghislaine Maxwell Wednesday, according to a press release from his office. The subpoena came on the same day a Florida judge denied a request by President Donald Trump's administration to unseal transcripts from the grand jury testimony.

Federal prosecutors are asking to meet with Ghislaine Maxwell, an associate of Epstein, to ask what she knows about the alleged sex trafficker.
