Two people are dead, and two others injured, in the aftermath of a crash into a furniture building on Detroit's east side. The crash was reported at about 1:45 a.m. Wednesday in the area of Gratiot Avenue and French Road.

A man and a woman are dead after the car they were in crashed into a building on Detroit's east side early Wednesday, police said. Two others who were in the vehicle are in a hospital; a female is in critical condition and a male was in stable condition, said Detroit Police Sgt. Daron Zhou, a spokesman for the department.

The vehicle struck the Nationwide Furniture building on Detroit's east side, cracking a wide hole in the exterior.
