Xbox Cloud Gaming is coming to some LG TVs “later this year,” Microsoft and LG announced at CES 2025. When the feature is available, if you have an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription, you’ll be able to stream games from the Xbox Game Pass library and select titles that you already own from the LG Gaming Portal.

Having first launched on Samsung TVs back in 2022, Microsoft is bringing its Xbox Cloud Gaming service to yet more television sets in 2025. This time around, Xbox is partnering up with LG to start streaming games on another batch of Smart TV devices later this year.

Some Xbox Cloud Gaming titles support touch controls on smartphones and tablets. However, a wireless Bluetooth controller is a better option for a smart TV when playing console-oriented games. Microsoft's first-party Xbox controller is an obvious solution with widespread compatibility. Pairing these peripherals to LG TVs is usually straightforward.

Microsoft is turning LG Smart TVs into Xbox screens via cloud gaming. The Xbox app on LG TVs allows streaming games from your Microsoft account. Game Pass Ultimate members can stream over 50 games they own on LG Smart TVs.

It’s teaming up with LG’s television division to prove it, announcing a partnership that will bring Xbox games, via Microsoft’s cloud gaming platform, to select LG TVs. That’s in addition to some Samsung TVs that already support the service, plus Apple, Amazon Fire and Android devices that can tap into cloud gaming via their respective Xbox apps.

LG TVs will be getting the Xbox app later this year, allowing owners to play 100s of Xbox games over the internet. You won't need a games console, just a Bluetooth controller. Microsoft is continuing to expand the amount of devices that can be considered "an Xbox".
