Tuesday marks four years since ABC7 digital producer Anne Swaney, 39, was found dead in Belize, floating in the Mopan River not far from an equestrian resort where she was vacationing.

Anne Swaney, one of our colleagues at ABC7 Chicago, was found murdered Friday while traveling in Belize, according to police in the Central American nation and the U.S. State Department.

Swaney, ranked 34th in the world, was able to take advantage of those requirements and a few injuries to get into the Olympics. Swaney did not qualify for the finals. Watch her performance here.

Swaney’s teams only won three District 6 titles during his career despite entering the postseason as a high seed more often than not. “If I had one regret over the years,” Swaney said.

Swaney's belongings were found on a yoga deck next to the river that runs through Nabitunich Farm, a horse and eco-resort popular with Americans and Canadians. Swaney had vacationed there previously.
