Ryan Wedding’s successor is believed to have been identified following his capture this week. Wedding, a former Canadian Olympic snowboarder, is in custody after a years-long FBI search. FBI agents arrested him in Mexico on Thursday night, bringing an end to a manhunt centered on a man said to be the biggest narco-trafficker of the current era.

Wedding, 44, is accused of running a drug trafficking operation, and officials say he orchestrated several killings to further the drug crimes.

During a November news conference, U.S. officials said Wedding is responsible for importing 60 metric tonnes of cocaine a year into Los Angeles via semi-trailer trucks from Mexico.
