The Cellucci family from Chester County, Pennsylvania, has been planning a trip to Italy for a year. Although their itinerary changed because of the death of Pope Francis, they hope to pay their respects to the late pontiff.

Chobani will break ground Tuesday on a $1.2 billion natural foods facility at the Triangle site in the Griffiss Business & Technology Park in Rome, officials are expected to announce Tuesday. The plant, when it reaches full capacity, will produce more than 1 billion pounds of dairy products a year on up to 28 production lines.

Governor Kathy Hochul announced that Chobani will build the largest natural food manufacturing plant in U.S. history in Rome, New York. The $1.2 billion investment will create more than 1,000 full-time jobs and expand the state’s lead in yogurt production.

Chobani has selected Oneida County as the site for a new $1.2 billion dairy processing plant, marking the nation’s largest investment in natural food manufacturing.
