Illinois court records show Michael McKee, the suspect in the deaths of Monique and Spencer Tepe, is not likely to be brought back to Ohio this week.

Spencer and Monique Tepe, a couple from Ohio, were discovered dead at their Columbus residence on December 30, 2025. The police found their two kids unharmed.

Columbus police said the speaker in a tearful 911 call that has grabbed national attention is not Monique Tepe.

Spencer and Monique Tepe’s brother-in-law shared details with NBC News about Monique’s marriage to Michael McKee, who is now facing charges for the couple’s murder. He says Monique told him McKee threatened her life during their marriage and was emotionally abusive to her.
