The 44-year-old former NFL linebacker-turned-lawyer will now join the race for Congressional District 33, which was redrawn by the Republican-led Legislature over the summer. Democratic U.S. Rep. Julie Johnson, who took over Allred's original district after he decided to challenge Cruz in 2024, has also signaled her intention to run for the seat.
