CINCINNATI — All-Star right-hander Corbin Burnes of the Arizona Diamondbacks is set to undergo Tommy John elbow surgery, ending his season early in the first year of a $210 million, six-year contract that’s the richest in team history.

Burnes, who is expected to undergo Tommy John surgery next week, will miss the rest of the 2025 season and most of 2026.

Arizona Diamondbacks right-hander Corbin Burnes will have Tommy John surgery next week, manager Torey Lovullo announced prior to Friday's series opener with the Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ball Park. Burnes exited his start this past weekend with an elbow injury and tests this week revealed a UCL tear significant enough to require surgery.
