WASHINGTON ( DC News Now) — As a cold front passes through the D.C. area Saturday morning, you may see more than frigid temperatures. Early Saturday morning, residents across Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia took their cameras to the skies to capture snow flurries falling from above.

Snow continues to fall across Mohawk Valley and while it looks like it will be sticking around until New Year's Day.

A sharp drop in temperatures is the start of another colder weather pattern setting up through the holiday weekend.

"Multiple disturbances will bring snow to the region today through Friday. The highest snow totals are expected in western Wisconsin, which should see [snow] from all the disturbances we see over the next couple of days," says the National Weather Service.

Does it snow in Florida? It can – and it did. Believe it or not, snow flurries are falling in northern Florida. Traffic cameras in northern Florida showed snow actively falling, as well as a light dusting on the freeways.

A second weekend wintry mix system is expected in Western North Carolina. The first event dumped snow and ice in the mountains.

Rare snow is falling across portions of the Southeast, with flakes falling in the Carolinas and dipping as far south as Florida.

Another round of snow is on the way for the New York City area on Sunday, and the totals could be more than previously expected.
