YouTube TV subscribers will continue to have access to Paramount channels such as CBS, Comedy Central, MTV and Nickelodeon. At least for now. The streaming service and Paramount announced late on Thursday that they have agreed to a short-term extension to avoid the channels leaving YouTube TV.

Paramount channels, including CBS, will "likely become unavailable" on YouTube TV starting Thursday after the network and the service failed to reach an agreement, according to a statement from YouTube. Recordings from Paramount channels and other Paramount add-ons such as Showtime and BET+ will also be unavailable.

Although Paramount and YouTube TV agreed on a "short term extension" that temporarily paused a blackout of CBS and other Paramount-owned channels on the Google-owned streaming platform, it is unclear how long the agreement will remain in place.
