Twenty-eight years after Gap first hit the Academy Awards red carpet, the humble button-down strikes again.

Barbie Ferreira made a striking appearance at the South by Southwest event 2026 (SXSW). She turned heads in a dramatic Paolo Sebastian Haute Couture gown that leaned fully into sheer elegance.

Known for her blistering pace and powerful shots, the soccer player is having a Barbie made in her likeness as the toymaker names her as role model of the year.

"The gown captures that relaxed gesture of tying a shirt around the waist," said designer Zac Posen.
