Arizona Diamondbacks star third baseman Eugenio Suárez took a fastball to the hand during Monday's game against the Detroit Tigers and had X-rays done, per USA Today's Bob Nightengale.

Major League Baseball's trade deadline is scheduled for next Thursday, which means teams have less than a week to get their midsummer shopping done. MLB reporter Héctor Gómez wrote on Twitter that the Brewers had emerged "now as a top suitor" for Suarez, but the names he mentioned as a possible return lined up perfectly with our Journal Sentinel story proposing mock trades (with reaction and analysis from Curt Hogg), which seems fishy.
The tough blows continue to fall for the Arizona Diamondbacks. On Monday, All-Star third baseman Eugenio Suárez exited a 5-1 loss to the Detroit Tigers in the ninth inning after taking another pitch off the hand. Suárez was in clear pain after being hit on what appeared to be the right index finger by the 96 MPH fastball.
With this news, it's been revealed that the Astros have entered the sweepstakes for Arizona Diamondbacks' third baseman Eugenio Suarez.
