Jeff Ulbrich revealed Monday some of the things that went wrong during his 12-game stint as the Jets’ interim head coach following the firing of Robert Saleh. Ulbrich joined the Falcons as their new defensive coordinator after he held the same position with the Jets, who went 3-9 with Ulbrich as an interim coach.

The Falcons have had four defensive coordinators in five seasons, along with a wealth of investment in that side of the ball through free agency, the draft, and trades, yet the unit is still among the worst in football.

They wouldn’t and they won’t, Ulbrich said Monday during his introductory news conference. He said both coaches are better since that coaching staff was swept out following Ulbrich’s tenure as interim defensive coordinator under interim head coach Morris in 2020.
