Tage Thompson and JJ Peterka each recorded a hat trick as the Buffalo Sabres (19-26-5) rolled past the Boston Bruins (25-21-6), 7-2, at KeyBank Center on Tuesday night. Thompson notched his seventh career hat trick, while Peterka earned his first.

With three goals and one assist apiece, Thompson and Peterka led the Buffalo Sabres to a 7-2 thrashing of the Boston Bruins. Fittingly, Buffalo’s most recent two-hat trick game had come against the Atlanta Thrashers on Jan. 18, 2008, courtesy of Derek Roy and Drew Stafford.

Winning consistently remains a problem for the Buffalo Sabres. The Nashville Predators, one of the streakiest teams in the NHL, can relate. At or near the bottom of their respective conferences, the Sabres host the Predators on Friday night.

Peterka scored a hat trick and had an assist in a 7-2 win against the Bruins on Tuesday. It was his first NHL hat trick.
