The transfer portal has been open for a few days, and the Florida Gators have been active. Head coach Jon Sumrall has already received a couple of commitments in the transfer portal, and more are expected to come quickly with the biggest being quarterback Aaron Philo from Georgia Tech.
After weeks of speculation Florida football running back Jaden Baugh has announced his intention to return to Gainesville on Tuesday, Jan. 6. “Being a Gator means everything to me," Baugh told Florida Victorious.
The Florida Gators were big winners on Tuesday as the Texas Longhorns failed to secure a superstar weapon for Arch Manning.
The FBS transfer portal opened Friday, Jan. 2, and runs through Jan. 16, a window in which players can officially be in contact with other schools. Florida players who are in the portal can re-sign with UF during that time or choose to sign with other schools.
After beating Georgia at home to get square at 1-1 in SEC play the Florida Gators will now welcome to Gainesville one of the top teams in the league in the Tennessee Volunteers.
