Green Bay general manager Brian Gutekunst believes the Packers have more cornerback depth than most NFL teams even after releasing two-time Pro Bowl selection Jaire Alexander. But that didn’t stop them from exploring creative ways to boost that position as they opened their minicamp Tuesday.
On Monday, the Green Bay Packers released two-time Pro Bowl cornerback Jaire Alexander. The 28-year-old defender and former first-round pick is, of course, now free to sign wherever he wishes—with some believing that a homecoming should be in the works.
Other established cornerbacks still unsigned include James Bradberry, Stephon Gilmore, Mike Hilton and C.J Henderson. The Dolphins have been linked to Hilton, the former Bengals slot corner, at different times this offseason, and he cannot be ruled out.
