The United States Geological Survey reported a preliminary magnitude 3.0 earthquake struck near the San Francisco Zoo on Saturday. The quake hit at 4:39 p.m. at a depth of 6.96 kilometers. This was followed by a magnitude 2.7 earthquake in the same area of the zoo at 4:41 p.m. at a depth of 6.87 kilometers.
