The official Democratic rebuttal to last night’s State Of The Union came from Virginia Governor Abigail Spanberger and mostly focused on affordability issues. Then, of course, there were the late night show rebuttals.

At the top of his show tonight, Stephen Colbert introduced the Late Show band, announced guest Jennifer Garner and then asked the audience, “You know who is not one of my guests tonight?” The CBS host the answered his own question.

Stephen Colbert has invited former CBS anchor John Dickerson onto his late-night show just days after a bitter clash with the network over its MAGA leanings. Dickerson, 57, left his role as CBS Evening News co-host at the end of last year after the network began its MAGA-friendly makeover.

The return marks the final three months of the long-running late-night program. CBS previously announced that The Late Show would end in May 2026, following the close of the 2025–26 broadcast season. The network cited financial reasons for the cancellation, claiming the show loses $40 million annually.

Colbert appeared on Seth Meyers' show to discuss the approaching end of his late-night run after more than a decade as host.
