The Seattle Mariners' and Toronto Blue Jays' quests for a World Series appearance continue Friday, as the two face off in Game 5 of the ALCS in Seattle before the series shifts back to Toronto. The ALCS has been stellar so far: The Mariners took a two-game lead to start, then the Blue Jays evened things up with a pair of dominant road wins.

Four games into this American League Championship Series battle between the Blue Jays and Mariners, and nothing separates these two clubs – except another cross-country flight on deck, with nothing short of a pennant on the line.

It's a Game 1 rerun, at least on paper, as No. 5 starter Bryce Miller starts for Seattle, opposed by Toronto ace Kevin Gausman. Miller was able to break serve in a 3-1 Game 1 victory, though the Blue Jays' 29-hit eruption in Games 3 and 4 and means the Mariners' bullpen is more taxed coming in.

The Toronto Blue Jays are fortunate to have one of baseball's best shortstops. But, will that continue into 2026?
