Multiple Democratic members have been packed into blue districts in Austin, Dallas and Houston to make way for newly crafted Republican districts in those areas.

The proposed map targets districts dominated by coalitions of Latino and Black voters, with a focus on districts in the Rio Grande Valley, the Dallas-Fort Worth area, and Central Texas. Houston Democrats would also see their districts shuffled.

The proposal would redraw district lines in ways that target current Democratic members of Congress in districts in South Texas and around Austin, Dallas and Houston.
