Temperatures will climb and we will have a strong southerly wind from the south which will lead to another muggy warm up as highs are expected to land in the mid and upper 80s again.This will cause the needed destabilization of our atmosphere as a cold front approaches which will lead to the severe weather threat returning in the later afternoon and evening timeframe.

After Saturday, all attention focuses on a third low pressure system which will be tracking northeastward from the south. This system could bring widespread rainfall to the region as early as Sunday evening. Rain will overspread the region Monday, lasting throughout the day as the system continues tracking northeast.

Rain is likely in much of Iowa on Thursday, the National Weather Service said. Check the radar and forecast before you head out.
