To use them, you'll need to press and hold the Fn key on your keyboard, which will make the F keys appear in the Touch Bar. From there, you can select the key for the desired function.

Using it, you can modify the behavior of pretty much all sorts of keys on your keyboard: everything from the regular/standard keys to both function and modifier keys.

Likewise, Apple's standalone Magic Keyboard lacks a Globe key for accessing alternative keyboard layouts and emoji, but you can remap this function to a modifier key, too.

The function keys are also different from the default keys on Apple’s Magic Keyboard, but there are shortcuts for Mission Control, Emoji picker, screen capture, and media controls.
