US stocks were mixed on Wednesday, with the Dow posting a fresh record but Big Tech stocks wobbling as chances grew that the record-long US shutdown will end soon.

In the span of a few weeks, some of Wall Street’s biggest banks have put down stakes in territory historically controlled by venture capital.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose by 87.8 points (0.18%) to 48,015.79.
