Millions of people around the world are captivated by a story out of China, where a group of dogs reportedly escaped certain death after fleeing a dog meat truck. A video recorded on March 16 shows seven dogs wandering along the side of a busy highway in China’s Jilin province.

Disney will surely be calling soon after a pack of seven stray dogs stolen to be turned into meat managed to find their way home after a treacherous 20km journey. The ragtag group of Corgis, Golden Retrievers and German Shepherds were snatched from three homes in a village in rural China on March 16.

It’s basically a real life version of “Homeward Bound.” The South China Morning Post (SCMP) reports that seven dogs that were stolen in China broke free from their captors and made a grand 10-mile-long journey home together.

"I want to encourage people to be responsible and realistic about what dog fits their lifestyle best," Aja's owner told Newsweek.
