Scientists have captured footage of a sleeper shark farther south than ever before, suggesting Antarctica’s Southern Ocean is not shark-free

In a rare discovery, scientists have captured the first-ever video evidence of a shark swimming deep inside the Antarctic waters, previously considered too frigid for them to survive.

The animal, estimated at three to four metres long, appeared in near-freezing water of 1.27°C, calmly cruising past a resting skate on the seabed.
