White House immigration enforcement policy is once again drawing the ire of religious leaders, this time with Pope Francis decrying it in a letter to U.S. bishops.

Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman joins a list of mostly Southern leaders to advance President Donald Trump's mass deportation plan, as Nassau becomes the second county in New York to partner with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement under a program to arrest and help deport immigrants with no legal status.

Attorney General Pam Bondi said the Justice Department was suing New York’s governor, the state attorney general and the state’s head of the Department of Motor Vehicles for failing to enforce federal immigration laws.
