Another move has been made by Jeff Peterson and the Hornets.
Charlotte acquired North Carolina native Coby White and sent Collin Sexton to the Chicago Bulls prior to Thursday’s NBA trade deadline.
The Charlotte Hornets have waived guard Pat Connaughton, the team announced Wednesday night. Connaughton has played in 22 games this season, averaging 2.9 points and 1.4 rebounds. He's shot a career-high 40.7% from three in his limited action.
Reports are swirling that the Hornets may be in on Giannis Antetokounmpo.
If Jeff Peterson, the Hornets’ president of basketball operations, does any kind of wheeling and dealing before the deadline, the premise would be gathering more draft capital to add to the already-growing stable Peterson has collected in less than two full years in charge of personnel in Charlotte.
BOTTOM LINE: Charlotte will try to keep its four-game road win streak alive when the Hornets play Houston. The Rockets have gone 17-5 in home games. Houston scores 115.5 points while outscoring opponents by 5.4 points per game.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — LaMelo Ball overcame an early head-to-head collision with coach Charles Lee to score 24 points, and the surging Charlotte Hornets fought back from a 22-point deficit to beat the New Orleans Pelicans 102-95 on Monday for their seventh straight win.
Ousmane Dieng was selected by the Thunder with the 11th pick in 2022 and has appeared in 136 games across four seasons in OKC. The defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder received center Mason Plumlee from the Charlotte Hornets in exchange for forward Ousmane Dieng, who was rerouted by Charlotte to the Chicago Bulls.
