American tennis star Amanda Anisimova has quickly emerged as one of the top-tier performers in the world, most recently defeating world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka to reach the finals of Wimbledon 2025.

Amanda Anisimova's parents, Olga and Konstantin, emigrated from Russia to the United States, and later guided her tennis career.

Eight months later, Anisimova returned to tennis at the start of the 2024 season. Since then, the 23-year-old has been looking much happier on the court and it led to her becoming a WTA 1000 champion in Doha. Now, she is also through to her first Wimbledon semifinal and set to break into the top-10 for the first time in her career on Monday.

One source of her issues was grieving the loss of her dad, Konstantin, who died of a heart attack in 2019 right before the U.S. Open. Anisimova withdrew from that tournament, but she couldn't regain her form afterward, making just one major quarterfinal in the next three years.
