Wouldn't renting a snowmobile and doing this on one's own be better in some ways... go at own pace, cover more ground, see more, stay as little or as long as you want at wherever you stop, and lower cost? What are the advantages of a guided tour? I ask bc I'm relatively fit and adventurous (Half Dome, Mt. Whitney, many long, tough, multiday backpacking trips, etc under my belt), and when I have done guided tours in the past while they were fine the pace is set by the slowest person in the group and I couldn't help but feel that I could've accomplished a lot more on my own. Thoughts?
