Camped for three nights. Beautiful campsite. Paved biking trail. Friendly staff. Did not catch much fishing but you know what they say about a bad day fishing vs a good day working! Full review by DAVID M

We explored Cove Lake State Park on bikes and in kayaks. Both were fun. They have a paved bike path that makes for enjoyable pedaling. We'd have kayaked much longer if the weather had been a little b… Full review by Joey D

There are waterfalls along a nearby creek but the creek is not suitable for swimming. The path of the Cumberland Trail is just to the north of Cove Lake State Park. If you hike northbound on the trail, there are a couple of nice water falls that are near to the park. One waterfall is immediately beside the trail. The other waterfall is 100 yards +/- upstream from a bridge that crosses a creek just before it steeply ascends up Cumberland Mountain. The hike from the parking lot for the Cumberland Trail is 2 or so miles from the parking area for the trail. There is a shorter hike to get to both waterfalls, but you probably need to get information on how to get there from a ranger and Cove Lake S.P. Be careful hiking near the waterfall beside the trail, there is an unprotected drop-off.
Q:
Can you have a small fire at night? Thanks
A:
You can if you are camping on a camp site. Fires aren't allowed anywhere else on park grounds though due to safety. Thank you
