you can park by gate.... then can walk or bike in for about 8 miles. they had closed the park at copper mine so you can't make it all the way to the end. you might check with …

you can park by gate.... then can walk or bike in for about 8 miles. they had closed the park at copper mine so you can't make it all the way to the end. you might check with rangers first. there were some bears even closer toward the front, but it's still a beautiful ride. there is a nice creek right at the parking area. some of the other hikes like crypt might be better. it's all beautiful there, but not sure if the smoke from the lake mcdonald fires is an issue?

I was told at the Canadian Visitor Center in Glacier National Park that you are allowed to walk, sit, and swim in the creek waters. I think it actually gets pretty busy up there during the warmer months. There weren't any signs posted saying you were not allowed in the water or to stay on trail.
